Stanbic Bank Botswana has concluded a flagship CEEP partnership with Tokafala Enterprise Development Programme to drive sustainable economic growth and community development. This partnership was cemented through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 3rd of May 2024 at Stanbic Bank Accelerate Incubator.

Through this partnership, the bank reiterates its dedication to its Social, Economic and Environmental (SEE) strategic ambitions. The partnership will provide support to youth entrepreneurs to develop and strengthen their small businesses through training, mentorship and access to funding. Over the course of a year, from 2024 to 2025, Stanbic Bank will allocate BWP1,000,000.00 in grants as part of this collaborative effort.

Kushatha Chilisa, Stanbic Bank Botswana Head of Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme, said, “Our newly established CEEP division seeks to advance our youth employability and entrepreneurship mandate, hence we are excited to partner with the Tokafala Enterprise Development Program in this 1st of its kind funding partnership, to tangibly bring this ambition to life.”

She said, “By combining our expertise, resources, and networks, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for youth empowerment and growth, ultimately contributing to a more prosperous future for our country.”

Tokafala Enterprise Development Programme focuses on fostering the growth of small and growing businesses in Botswana by helping them to overcome the challenges that many entrepreneurs face in the country.

Tokafala has to date provided advisory services and mentorship to more than 215 Small and Medium Enterprises, helping entrepreneurs develop the business, financial management and marketing skills they need to build successful and sustainable businesses.
