Orange Botswana is currently embarking on a network rollout exercise for remote areas across the country. This exercise aims to improve customer experience through enhanced network coverage, introduction of new products and services and keeping rural dwellers in touch with developmental changes in urban areas.

So far new sites have been launched in Ditshegwane and Lorolwaneng in the southern part of the country and more sites are expected in the northern region and the Central District. Today marked the launch on a new network site in Pilikwe village located in the Central District, where services such as Orange Money and Sim registrations were introduced.

“We are really happy for this new development. For us people in rural communities, Orange Money is our bank. Our parents will no longer have to worry about travelling to Palapye to collect their money because now their children can send them money through Orange Money, which they can then use to pay for services such as motlakase and buy food. It will also be quick and easy for us to communicate with people outside our village. We are looking forward to a fruitful relationship with orange Botswana,” said Kgosi Gasebalwe Seretse of Pilikwe.

The new network will enable easy communication and transactions within and outside the village, improve access to information and also provide employment opportunities for the residents.

According to Orange Botswana’s Sales Operations Director Sipho Ntebang, these new site launches come with new developments in terms of business opportunities and employment creation.

“Through these site launches, we are going to establish Service and Orange Money points to distribute our products and services, meaning that we will employ people to render these services. Extra business opportunities will also be created for existing businesses helping us to serve our clients better,” said Sipho Ntebang.

Orange Botswana will continue with this exercise until mid-year, launching six more new sites in remote villages strategically spread across the country including, Makobo, Mokoboxane, Kauxwi, Zoroga and Mabeleapodi, in the North-East, North-West and the Central districts.
