Boerboel breeders will converge on the capital city in numbers for the first ever National champions for the imposing canine, called the Boerboel a large a Molosser type breed from South Africa bred for the purpose of guarding the homestead.
The event will be preceded by an informational Botswana Boerboel Workshop scheduled for the 13th and 14th September 2018 at BUAN Centre for Continuing Education(CEC) in Sebele.
Price for participation is P250.00 for non – SABBS members/members of the public and P150.00 for SABBS members. the workshop starts 8:30 am on both days Thursday and Friday organizers have revealed.
The deadline for payments to enroll in ground breaking SABBS sanctioned workshop is the 31 August 2018 and the facilitators of the workshop are Anemari Pretorius(author of the only sanctioned book by SABBS on Boerboels) and Kenny Van Der Merwe, Vice Chairman South African Boerboel Breeders Society(SABBS) who is an elite farmer and owner of Elevation Boerboels.
The two day workshop will cover Breed Standard and Appraisal process. Participants will also have the opportunity to write formal SABBS exams to start process of qualifying as certified SABBS Boerboel appraisers, if they intend to become SABBS appraisers.
Puppy classes at the highly anticipated National SHOW and Appraisal is restricted to puppies older than three months due to the limited immunity of younger puppies.
The birth dates that determine the categories and classes for which both male and females Boerboels fall under at the Boerboel National Show and Appraisal scheduled for 15th September 2018 at Game City, Gaborone are as follows:
