Capital Bank Botswana commemorated a historic milestone of its own, celebrating 10 years of helping Botswana and contributing towards her socio-economic development.

The Bank’s robust performance since first opening its doors is a key testament to the many ways in which Capital Bank has grown with the communities in which it operates, in line with the “Where You Come First” Capital Bank mantra.

Hitesh Anadkat, Capital Bank, Botswana Board Chairman, said “Since our arrival many SME customers have accessed credit and banking services from us. But equally importantly, for SME customers in the country, competition forced the larger banks to gear up their service levels and provide finer pricing to their customer base. We are certain we have made a difference. We have never given the Bank of Botswana any worries over the past decade. The main reason for this is, we are conservative in our ways and make protection of depositors funds our guiding principle.”

Since first opening its doors in Botswana in 2008, Capital Bank has a played a pivotal role towards the development of Botswana and its people. The Bank continues to seek opportunities to contribute towards the growth of this Nation even further.

Capital Bank is not only a financial institution, but a reputable and responsible corporate citizen. The Bank is committed to contributing towards various stakeholders in the communities in which it operates.

Anadkat, said “We have been and will continue to be good corporate citizens. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we have assisted orphans and vulnerable children, education, sports, culture and arts. In a decade, our growth as a business drove several developments towards the community.”

He said, “Now that we feel more grounded, we have slightly accelerated growth efforts. We have recently made good and steady inroads in the personal lending space and increased our business with very large corporates in Botswana. I believe we have made a statement of our confidence in the country and ourselves, by buying this beautiful building in the CBD. We intend to be here for many more decades.”

Capital Bank continues to work to ensure that it is be aligned with Government’s Vision and well as NDP 11. A focus on economic diversification, poverty eradication and jobs creation are central to these, and is recognized by the Bank as areas to work within.

As regards the latter, the Bank recently awarded an opportunity to a total of 5 stellar-performing graduates from Botswana tertiary institutions through its Graduate Trainees Programme. This is but one example of working to driven demonstrable impact. It is examples such as these that show that, its 10 years of existence in Botswana, Capital Bank has been, and continues to be, dedicated towards contributing to the growth and development of Botswana’s economy.

Jaco Viljoen, Capital Bank Botswana, Chief Executive Officer, said “We dedicate this milestone to our incredible clientele, partners, and stakeholders in Botswana and beyond. As a bank, we will continue to deliver on our 2020 strategy of building a sustainable business and keep working to reach increasingly higher levels of excellence, as we owe it to the customers to place their trust and loyalty in us. We will continue working with our fellow stakeholders in the public and private sectors to take Botswana to greater progress and success.”

Capital Bank Botswana through its expansion strategy has acquired its second Head Office Building in the heart of the CBD and are working towards opening our CBD branch in October 2018. The Bank will open three more loan centres in Kanye, Francistown and Palapye to make them four by end of this year in efforts to bring services closer to its customers.
