A total of 257 students will be graduating at the Third Graduation Ceremony of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), to be held at the University Campus in Palapye on Saturday 23rd , February 2019 from 07:00hrs – 11:00hrs.
Amongst them, 225 have successfully completed their studies in the degree programmes: Bachelor of Sciences (117), Bachelor of Engineering (108), 19 Master of Sciences and nine (9) Master of Engineering have completed respectively while four (4) have successfully completed Doctor of Philosophy. The University is intended to serve as one of the key platforms for transforming Botswana’s economy from being the resource-based to knowledge based through skills capacity building in Engineering, Science and Technology.
It is therefore through this graduation that the University intends to manifest its mission of educating, training and preparing its students to assume a more active role in transforming our country from being reliant on its natural resources to being more driven by its people’s knowledge, innovation and invention.
The ceremony will be officiated by Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, the President of the Republic of Botswana as the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries and invited guests include, Members of Cabinet, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, and Members of Parliament, Senior Government officials, Dikgosi, Chief Executive Officers from the parastatal and private sector, the business community, fellow academics, the local authorities, invited parents and the media. The public is invited and advised to be seated at 06:45hrs.
