Orange Botswana has launched new 4G TDD network and Unlimited Prepaid Max offers, connecting customers across Botswana with colleagues, family and friends #ToTheMax.
The Konnecta Max range offers accessible ultra-fast connectivity, excellent quality of service and an inclusive solution for all at an affordable price point. This allows for easier connectivity for corporates and businesses as well as for the mass market, being the everyday Orange subscriber.
“We’re excited to bring another first to market and more importantly one that helps deliver even more value to our customers, fully alive to their need and desire for more data access options,” said Said Dr. Patrick Benon, Orange Botswana Chief Executive Officer(CEO).
He said, “ Indeed, we now offer a higher entry level package at a cheaper price, so not only is this a first for Botswana in terms of the technology being used, but we are actively working to ensure that the quality to price ratio remains competitive in the market as our customers deserve to get value for their money.”
The Konnecta Max range uses 4G TDD connectivity, and has 3 offers, first is the Unlimited Prepaid Max, that affords customers unlimited access and flexibility as it is available without contract.
The second offer of the range is the Konnecta Prepaid Max, which offers more volume and affordability at as little as P199 for 20GB. The third and final offer is the Konnecta Postpaid Max, which gives customers affordable unrestricted access on contract.
Orange Botswana aims to meet demand for reliable, fast internet connectivity, more data volume allowance, free unlimited night data bundles, higher fair usage policy and excellent quality of service.

Konnecta Max offers are available in 22 cities, towns and villages: Bobonong, Francistown, Gabane, Gaborone, Ghanzi, Jwaneng, Kanye, Letlhakane, Lobatse, Mahalapye, Maun, Mmadinare, Mmopane,Mogoditshane, Molepolole, Palapye, Ramotswa, Selebi Phikwe, Serowe, Tlokweng and Tutume. All one needs to experience the next level of unlimited connectivity is a compatible Flybox available in our shops, which is a plug and play device that needs no installation.
“As Orange Botswana, in order to address customer needs in 2020, we have introduced 4G+ technology for more speed and more stability, and we have renewed and upgraded all our base stations, everywhere in Botswana. We have also managed to increase the number of our base stations supporting 4G or 4G+ technology by up to 60% to date,” said Benon.
Before the network upgrade we carried out last year, 40% of Orange Botswana base stations were supporting only 2G technology, meaning that they were very limited in terms of data services.
All of those base stations have been upgraded to 3G or 4G, except less than 2% of them and their upgrade is still ongoing. It means that today everywhere Orange network is present in Botswana, you have very good data services regardless of where you are.
