 Botswana Telecommunications Corporation(BTC)  awarded and handed over prizes to customers under the Sign Up or Upgrade and Win as well as the Hawkers Challenge competitions.

 Speaking at the event held at the Gaborone Bus Rank, Head of Enterprise Sales, Mosimanegape Moilwa said BTC continues to offer customers innovative and affordable products and services. 

 “Sign Up or Upgrade and Win competition calls for new customers to apply for home internet while existing customers are required to upgrade their internet speeds and enter the competition through the BTC website,” said Mosimanegape Moilwa, BTC Head of Enterprise Sales.

 Tumisang Tshukudu, who took the third spot, won a Samsung Smartphone for upgrading his internet capacity to 20mbps. Ms Thatayotlhe Gasemotho, also won an iPad for upgrading to 10mbps.

 The overall winner Modingwa Charles walked away with an LG ‘55 inch’ television under the new customer category after signing up for the 20mbps internet service. The overjoyed Modingwa stated that he will replace his old television with the new one which came ‘at the right time.’

 He stated that his family enjoys and uses the BTC 20mbps internet experience, for schoolwork, entertainment, and to browse the internet.

 Parallel to the “Sign Up or Upgrade and Win  competition, BTC is also running the Hawkers Challenge Competition termed ‘Hawkers Challenge.’

 The competition encourages and motivates Small and Medium Enterprise (SMME’s) to grow their sales by fifty percent (50%) or more on a monthly basis. BTC Channel Coordinator under Indirect Sales Ms. Pearl Ndlovu explained that the top five hawkers will walk away with stock value of P15,000 and the grand finale prize is a mobile tuckshop (semausu) with stock value of P15,000. She explained that the competition will run for six months with monthly price giveaways.

 Ms Bontle Gotsilewame who operates from Mahube Saverite in Kanye scooped position five (5), walking away with P1000 stock value. Ms Orumilwe Moiladijo from Ledumadumane Shell scooped position 4 and received P2000 stock value. Ms Malebogo Baraedi, operating from Phakalane Engen ATM scooped position 3 and won P3000 stock value. Ms Alice Sipho who operates from Metsimotlhabe Choppies scooped the second position, securing P4000 stock value.

 The overall winner of the Hawkers Challenge, Ms Maleshwane Mandefu who operates at Molepolole SupaSave won P5000. The elated Mandefu stated that she did not expect the win although she pointed out that the BTC airtime promotions assisted her. She stated that the win will assist her greatly in increasing her stock as well as her chances of winning the grand prize.

 For a customer to be part of the exciting BTC “Sign Up or Upgrade and Win” competition, they must upgrade their home internet packages or sign up for new connections.

 The upgrades and sign ups are done online on the BTC website, www.btc.bw. Customers must then use the promo code SIGN UP to enter into the competition. The Hawkers Challenge competition is open to all hawkers across the country, commonly known as bo-Mmasekhukhu (Nthope Airtime).

 To be a winner, the hawker must sell airtime and grow their business by 50% from the previous month.
