Mascom Live Session

Botswana Craft will host the African Heritage Tour on Saturday the 14thof October 2023. The midday music show will feature one of Botswana’s finest jazz and tenor saxophonist Lister Boleseng alongside Jesse and Moss Mogale of the Moss Mogale Unit.

A veteran musician of note both locally and internationally, Lister has three studio albums under his belt. His first studio project, dubbed Life Is A Journey, was used as a springboard for him to enter the tough but enterprising music industry in Botswana. By all standards, the debut album did very well in the market culminating in opening doors to the international market.

Lister Boleseng and his band toured countries such as Switzerland, China, Japan, Germany, Sweden and other European countries in a career spanning over thirty five years.

Lister released a second album called Moratiso, which was well received by his followers and jazz lovers in general. Next week Saturday, Lister will be going on stage beaming with confidence as a result of his newest and third album, Pelo Yame, just released at the end of September 2023.

Sharing the stage with Lister on the African Heritage Tour is another jazz veteran and the much travelled Jesse Mogale from Mamelodi, Gauteng Province in South Africa.

Known for his mellow and soothing contemporary jazz tunes, Jesse is well recognised by his unique style on the double bass. He too, has travelled the world doing what he knows best, dishing out jazz tunes to multitudes of followers through the world.

Jesse has performed in major festivals and venues such as The Market Theatre in Johannesburg, Baxter Theatre in Cape Town, Troppens Theatre in Amsterdam, Harare International Festival of the Arts in Zimbabwe as well as the famous National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. His latest studio project is the Heritage from an African Continent album released in 2020.

He is a marvel to watch and hear.  Jesse has also played alongside KippieMoeketsi, Barney Rachabane, BhekiMseleku, Allen Kwena, ZimNqawana and George Lee.  He has collaborated with the likes of James Morrison and played with bands like Four Sounds Plus Three.

He will be accompanied on stage by a full band including his elder brother, mentor and coach Moses Moss Mogale who plays lead guitar and released the much acclaimed Moss Mogale Unit album.

This will be a memorable performance not to be missed by those with an appreciation for quality live music.  The show will start at 12 noon on Saturday 14thOctober.

A limited number of tickets are available for P200.00 at Botswana Craft in advance.
