Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) and Botswana Post have announced that they will offer BTC Smega services through Botswana Post outlets in every village, town, and city in Botswana, covering a network of 131 post offices, 20 kiosks, 75 postal agencies and 12 courier logistics hubs.
Speaking at the launch of the partnership, BTC Chief Commercial Officer Edward Wicks stated that BTC customers countrywide will now be able to access BTC Smega services throughout the country.
He stated that BTC Smega offers services such as depositing and withdrawing cash, new registration for the service, buying of airtime or data bundles, prepaid electricity, opening of Motshelo accounts as well as applying for the BTC Smega Prepaid Visa Card and many other amazing transactions.
“The strategic partnership will go a long way in enhancing our customers’ experience” said Wicks.
Botswana Post General Manager Business Manager Business Development, Kagiso Mokgosi stated that Botswana Post thrives in expanding its agency networks (Money Transfer) to improve the business’s financial standing by creating more value for its stakeholders especially those in far flung vulnerable communities, which in turn feeds into the company’s goal of enhancing customer experience.
BTC Smega has brought financial inclusion and convenience to a majority of Batswana especially those in remote areas of our vast geographical land, where there are limited banking facilities.
