Kgalagadi Breweries Limited(KBL) has announced a price reduction on alcohol brands of its stable products St Louis Export, St Louis Lager, Castle Lager, Castle Lite and Carling Black Label effective today following a drop in the alcohol levy from 55% to 35%.
“We have listened to our valued consumers and we act in their best interests, passing this benefit to them as a discount price beginning with the festive season. This is all by virtue of Government’s reduction in the alcohol levy,” said Renaud Beaucamp, KBL Managing Director.
He said, “It allows us to not only discount our pricing to benefit the consumer but to confidently say now that every purchase by a consumer means you are then also allowing us to contribute to socio-economic development initiatives and growth of this Botswana business bringing true sustainable difference to fellow Batswana.”
According to KBL at a press brief at their offices Monday this significant price reduction will be subject to review should there be any new tax introductions or increases in the future that stand to impact pricing and with all terms and conditions applicable.
KBL has also announced plans to continue with community development initiatives such as kickstart, an SME and start up investment and development platform to facilitate efforts towards greater economic diversification. It will also free funds for increased capacity building at KBL.
“We have always sought to provide our customers and the communities in which we operate with the greatest value, either directly through pricing or through various community and social development programmes. This we believe, a welcome initiative for all. Every purchase that our customers make allows them to get their favourites for less as well as knowing their support of our brands goes towards growing something bigger,” said Beaucamp.
He said, “Our dream is to bring people together through greater experiences with our products, therefore we would like to encourage consumers to practice reasonable drinking during the holiday season.”
