The National Development Bank(NDB) has disbursed P142 million through Temo Letlotlo programme, in an effort to create a positive social impact on the lives of Batswana.

This has not been without its challenges bank officials revealed as teething problems are to be expected of any new Programme.

“The plight of food security is a real one, as food remains a basic need for everyone. Our role has always been to provide an environment that promotes agricultural growth, in ensuring that our support extends beyond mere financial transactions,” said Ogone Madisa, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National development Bank(NDB).

She said, “During this interaction, we will dive in to discuss progress and its challenges. Thankfully we have had positive ratings, and while we are not where we want to be, we are getting there”

Currently, through Temo Letlotlo, we have disbursed P142, 000, 000 covering farmers from micro to commercial levels. This figure includes the tractor and fencing schemes disbursements.

The National Development Bank(NDB) is currently doing an average production of 1.5 per hectare, and it wants to move up to 3.5 per hectare within a reasonable period of time.
