Orange Botswana believes in the importance of taking time to share what we are grateful for. After all, no individual or business succeeds in isolation.

Orange Botswana therefore kicked off the #ThankYouThursday campaign in March 2018 as a means to thank Batswana for their loyalty and support over the years. The campaign further encourages Batswana to seek what it is they are thankful for, recognising and commemorating people and platforms in their lives they wish to thank.

Dr. Patrick Benon, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Botswana, said, “The idea behind #ThankYouThursday was born out of a need to show our gratitude for our loyal customers for the trust and support they place in us. This made us reflect further, realising how important it is to thank one’s team, regulators, communities, and more.”

He said, “Thus, it became a way for us not only to show our gratitude, but to try and inculcate a great culture of gratitude amongst Batswana. We are where we are because of so many others, just as each and every person owes a great deal to others for shaping their lives.”

The #ThankYouThursday movement works in a number of ways and across all media platforms. The public are encouraged to tune into the #ThankYouThursday radio platform on RB2 every Thursday at 16h30 with DJ Sly, calling in to share what they are thankful for in life.

In doing so, they stand a chance to win prizes. People may also enter on social media by sharing their gratitude moment and posting this with the hashtag #ThankYouThursday, and via SMS and Whatsapp.

Beyond this, Batswana are simply encouraged to make Thursdays a day for actively sharing their gratitude in any and all means. #ThankYouThursday is ours to champion, says Orange Botswana!

“Be it thanking one’s loved ones, or thanking someone for good service delivery, #ThankYouThursdays is, we believe, the kind of cult movement we need in this increasingly hectic world. We need to remember the good!” concluded Dr. Benon.
