Gaborone – An excellence state of mind and demonstrable excellence delivery are paramount to ensuring a sound customer experience. This is the sentiment of Stanbic Bank Botswana, and the impetus behind the annual Stanbic Bank Botswana Mark of Excellence Awards 2019.
The Mark of Excellence Awards initiative is part of the Standard Bank Groupwide Beyond Excellence programme, a human capital driven initiative that seeks to reward excellence in the workplace. This sees the growth and celebration of champions of excellence: members of staff who were duly recognised for exceeding expectations by going the extra mile.
Sam Minta, Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive, said, “This is about celebrating the beacons of excellence who we know will go on to become great industry leaders, adding further to the multitude of talent that has come through and nurtured within this business.”
He said, “Thus, we celebrate, grow and further support the team who, day in and day out, work tirelessly to help move Batswana – individuals, families, businesses and communities – forward. For this reason, we are firm believers, at Stanbic Bank Botswana, in the fact that the great work of our team ought to be recognised and celebrated.”
Employees were nominated by their peers for Mark of Excellence Awards both at country and Group level. Against stringent criteria 39 staff went home with awards for their Excellence. This marks a strong year on year growth of talent appreciation at the Bank, and a testament to the investment in capability yielding strong results.
