GABORONE– Stanbic Bank Botswana has revealed that there has been one(1) confirmed case of Covid-19 infection at the Head Office building in Fairgrounds.
The employee was working from home at the time of testing positive, and the last time the employee was in the building was 14 days ago, on the 29thof May 2020.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness (the Ministry) has been working with and supporting the Bank by inspecting bank, and testing almost all the employees in the building for Covid-19.
The few employees who came into direct contact with the infected individual have been taken into compulsory isolation by the Ministry and none of them were in client-facing roles. Our thoughts are with all affected employees and their families. Counselling services will be provided to affected employees.
Samuel Minta, Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive(CEO), said “While only a small area of the Bank was exposed, the entire building will be closed-off and decontaminated over the weekend. Only employees who test negative for Covid-19 will be allowed back into the building, with the prior approval of the Ministry.”
Clients and stakeholders will continue to enjoy uninterrupted services as we have invoked our Business Continuity Plan to service their needs from the remaining branches in Gaborone as none of these were impacted. All our digital channels are available for 24/7 banking.
