Stanbic Bank Botswana has today announced its support towards Township Rollers Football Club (TRFC) with the renewal of the TRFC sponsorship valued at BWP 4,500 000.00 for a duration of three years (2023 -2025).

The sponsorship is aligned with the Bank’s mandate of making a difference in various sporting communities and by partnering with organisations dedicated to the development of young talent. This ultimately contributes to the growth and discipline of athletes in Botswana.

Stanbic Bank recognises that football is amongst the more popular sports codes in the world, with a great deal of influence as it brings people together.

Township Rollers, Botswana’s most successful football club has won many cups that include the ongoing BTC Premier League and Mascom Top 8 in the previous years.

Chose Modise, Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive said, “We continue to strengthen mutually beneficial relationships that are also impactful to the communities around us. Our aim is to see Township Rollers FC progress even further in local and African football, developing young talent and contributing towards the growth of the discipline in Botswana.”

The Bank believes football instils great lessons and changes lives especially of the youth by keeping them engaged and entertained.

“It with a great deal of gratitude that I stand here this morning, to thank you for agreeing to continue sponsoring us, despite the challenges that came with the pandemic. We really appreciate this noble gesture and hope that it can grow beyond expectation and extend even further,” said Jagdish Shah, Township Rollers FC President.

This has further cemented our commitment to play our part in helping progress even further in both local and African football.

“For us, it is critical to build a sellable football product, in order to inspire sponsor confidence. I stand before you today to declare my unflinching belief in the future of this Stanbic Bank/Township Rollers Partnership,” said Bennett Mamelodi, Chief Executive Officer of Township Rollers FC Chief Executive Officer.

The Bank’s commitment to sports development is evidenced by its active participation and sponsorship in the 41st Botswana National Sports Commission awards, Diacore Gaborone Marathon, the GM’s Annual Charity Cycle Challenge, CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships and Orapa GM’s Walk to mention but a few.
